Academic & Honours Awards Ceremony 2024

On Monday 5 February, we celebrated the academic achievements of our 2023 Year 5 to Year 11 students and our Honours students from the Class of 2023.

Ms Alison McGuigan (Alumnae 1984), Vice President of The Cohen Group, was our guest speaker for the event. She shared with our attendees the importance of self-determination, perseverance and courage in achieving one's set goals and aspirations. It was an honour to welcome Ms McGuigan to the event as a way of creating a living bridge between our past and present St Aidan's students.

We warmly welcomed our 2023 Honours students who received an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of 95 or above. We also had the privilege of recognising our 2023 Subject Award recipients who achieved the highest result for a Year 12 subject. Our Honours students shared their reflections of their journey at St Aidan's, with many of them highlighting that balancing study, extra-curricular activities and their personal life was the key to their strong academic success.

We also acknowledged the academic results of our 2023 Years 5 to 11 students who attained a high-Grade Point Average (GPA) or showed outstanding progress in their studies. We wish to congratulate you all on your outstanding academic results. You are born to fly.

Attendees at the ceremony not only celebrated the educational excellence of St Aidan's students, but also witnessed the talents of our musicians. Our Senior String Quartet welcomed our guests into City Hall, and our Symphonic Winds, Paganini Strings and Chorale ensembles played several pieces throughout the Service. We extend our sincere thanks to the Music Department for their tireless efforts in making the ceremony enjoyable for all.
